Creating 3D models is a slow and somewhat costly process, but the investment is worth it. 3D techniques allow us to create works that are much more real than we could make using other creative tools.
This is true for the video that we made for J&J. In that video we show how the product works inside the skin. Of course, we could have shown the cream’s functionality on the skin using a flat, 2D illustration, but the 3D model presents this image in a different way:
The significant advantage of 3D is its ability to create texture and depth. For the video above, a flat image never would have created the sensation of the cream being absorbed into the skin, as if the audience were watching the product in action. By simulating the real world, 3D models allow us to create scenes that appear incredibly real. Of course, having enough time is necessary because it is a method that requires powerful computers and significant time to create the models and renderings.
